Altus Advisory Partners was pleased to have been selected to participate in the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) 2014 Summer Academic Affairs Meeting (July 31 – August 2) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The theme for AASCU’s Academic Affairs Summer Meeting was “Fostering Student Success: Programs and Practices.”
At the meeting, Altus founder and CEO Scott Lurding co-presented a session along with a representative from a university client that is an AASCU member. The two discussed a project to improve student employment outcomes at the client university. Lurding was selected by AASCU to present at the meeting based on his firm’s unique work to improve employer alignment and student employment outcomes for their university clients.
Lurding presented on the work his firm did to help their client develop genuine partnerships with the employer community and the university’s process to improve student employment outcomes and create long-term development opportunities. In his presentation, Lurding shared the process Altus uses for employer alignment projects, the value of the learning gained from engaging employers through interviews, and the long-term benefits of universities’ efforts to align themselves more closely with relevant employers.
